Welcome to our story
The Women of Rollins Club was started in the early 1930s. The earliest record located is from 1932 in an article in the Daily Interlake about a meeting at Mrs. Brunner’s house as meetings were held at different members’ homes, and dues at that time were $.25 a month.
Formerly, The Women of Rollins Club shared the Rollins Schoolhouse with the Rollins Community Club. This club disbanded in 2018, leaving all the utilities and maintenance to the Women’s Club. We became a 501c3 in 2017 which helps us to raise funds to not only maintain, but also to begin renovating the schoolhouse.
From the very early days through current times, the WORC has always been a volunteer based charitable organization helping our community in ways deemed essential by the members. In the 1930s, projects included collecting metal and rolling bandages for the WWII war effort. The needs have changed over the years, but we still try to help wherever we can. Our current projects include making quilts for the Children’s Cancer Unit in Logan Health Hospital, providing 2 $1000.oo college sponsorships, and donating to the Lakeside Food Bank.
Funding for these projects is derived through donation of time, money, goods and talents of WORC members. The Quilt group works year round on the annual quilt which is sold at raffle as well as additional quilts and crafts which are donated for sale at the annual yard Sale each July and the Holiday Bazaar in October.
